The Inaccessible Pinnacle, often referred to as the 'In Pinn', is Britain's most challenging mountain summit. It's shear, shark fin like shape and graded technical rock climbing inspire awe and intimidation and can be a brilliant day in the mountains of the Cuillin Ridge of Skye for those who embrace the adventure.
At 986m above sea level, the In Pinn sits on top of Sgurr Dearg. A normal ascent usually ascends the West ridge of Sgurr Dearg so that your guide can ascertain each individuals ability via some fun scrambling on the ridge before reaching the pinnacle. From here, in teams of two or three, we climb 'The Pinn' and abseil off before either descending back the same way or via a number of alternative routes depending on time, weather, ability levels and how everyone is feeling.
This fantastic summit is attainable to people of average to good fitness and with a little head for heights. No climbing or abseiling experience is necessary, though it is an advantage. With our experience and professional guidance, we will guide you safely up the classic East Ridge of the pinnacle and then back down via a fun but steep abseil.

timing and meeting
You will meet your instructor on the morning of your start date. Where possible we will try to meet you the night before but this is not always possible. Your instructor will be in contact the week before your start date to discuss final arrangements and the prevailing weather conditions.
Equipment
We will provide a harness and helmet for each day. If you are not used to this technical equipment your guide will ensure it is used in the correct manner. They will also assess the groups abilities and the prevailing weather and use a rope when they see fit. We are here to make your experience as safe and fun as possible.
