We will be sticking closely to Scottish government and Mountaineering Scotland guidelines for the safety of our clients and guides and have put into place a number of procedures to this effect. If government regulations in Scotland dictate that we are unable to run any days we will happily refund or rearrange any bookings made, whichever is your preference.
All of our procedures will be based on the above mentioned advice and guidelines, meet the requirements of our insurer and Professional Association, the Association of Mountaineering Instructors, and is founded on an evidence based approach to safe operation. To this effect, when you join us in the mountains, we will ask you to adhere to the following:
In addition to you agreeing to the above Covid-19 safety protocol McKeever Mountain Guiding will adhere to the above agreement, quarantine any technical equipment which has been used by customers for 72 hours before its next use and continuously adapt its operating procedures and safety protocols in line with Government advice and evidence based research.

To this effect, when you join us in the mountains, we will ask you to adhere to the following:
- To check yourselves and members of your household or those you have been in close contact with in the past 14 days for Covid-19 symptoms. These symptoms include:
- A high temperature
- A new and continuous cough (coughing a lot for more than 1 hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours)
- A loss or change to your sense to smell and/or taste
- If you are showing any of the above symptoms (including during joining us in the mountains) you must stay at home (or go home) and self-isolate for 10 days. We will try to limit the financial effect of such actions as much as we can for the benefit of society as a whole.
- You must bring your own hand gel, face mask/face covering, wipes and eye protection such as sunglasses.
- Accept that mountain rescue may take much longer to respond or only be able to respond in a limited capacity, and this may effect the route choice on the day as we all have to be more cautious.
- Accept that we have a responsibility to our community and society in general and make every effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
- Accept that participating in your booked activity may increase your risk of infection with Covid-19 relative to non-participation.
- Agree to maintain 2m distance between yourself, your guide and others as much as possible.
- Accept that in the dynamic environment of the mountains we may not be able to maintain Covid-19 Secure practices at all times due to immediate safety concerns which may take priority.
- Agree to bring you own food and drink, sun cream, midge repellent and midge net, clothing, personal first aid kit and technical equipment where possible.
- Meet your guide at the carpark to avoid car sharing.
- Accept we may need to remain flexible on route choice and plans in order to avoid large groups of people, maintain social distancing and minimise the chance of infection.
- Agree to inform us if you develop Covid-19 symptoms within 14 days of your activity. We agree to do the same.
